Best baked salmon

This is one of my specialty that my dad taught me. I remember him baking salmon and showing me exactly what to do, talking about making sure it is not overcooked (I really don’t like overcooked salmon). I now make it quite often and it is always a huge success. No sauce needed as the butter and dill give a beautiful taste and texture to the salmon. Try it, enjoy and let me know what you think!

    Ingredients

    • 1 kg Salmon filet
    • 2 tbsp. Olive oil or butter
    • 1/4 cup Chopped Fresh Dill
    • Salt and pepper

    Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 400F. Spray a baking tray with oil.
    2. Place the salmon filet, skin side down on the baking tray. Drizzle with olive oil or little pieces of butter. Season with the chopped dill, salt and pepper.
    3. Bake for 20 minutes. The cooking time will differ depending on the thickness and size of your salmon. When I bake individually cut fillets, I only cook them for about 7-8 minutes.
    4. The salmon should be opaque and slightly pink inside. To test it, open it up in the middle a little bit with a fork, it should be flaky and light pink. If it is not there just yet, bake it a little longer. I usually add about 2-3 minutes at the time and retest as necessary.
