Best baked salmon
This is one of my specialty that my dad taught me. I remember him baking salmon and showing me exactly what to do, talking about making sure it is not overcooked (I really don’t like overcooked salmon). I now make it quite often and it is always a huge success. No sauce needed as the butter and dill give a beautiful taste and texture to the salmon. Try it, enjoy and let me know what you think!
Ingredients
- 1 kg Salmon filet
- 2 tbsp. Olive oil or butter
- 1/4 cup Chopped Fresh Dill
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400F. Spray a baking tray with oil.
- Place the salmon filet, skin side down on the baking tray. Drizzle with olive oil or little pieces of butter. Season with the chopped dill, salt and pepper.
- Bake for 20 minutes. The cooking time will differ depending on the thickness and size of your salmon. When I bake individually cut fillets, I only cook them for about 7-8 minutes.
- The salmon should be opaque and slightly pink inside. To test it, open it up in the middle a little bit with a fork, it should be flaky and light pink. If it is not there just yet, bake it a little longer. I usually add about 2-3 minutes at the time and retest as necessary.
