Caramel Apple Tartelettes
So I was in Victoria visiting my husband’s family and I wanted to make them a tarte Tatin. For a strange reason, the grocery store I went to was out of puff pastry. So I stood there, in front of the freezer, with my apples in hand wondering what to do. And then, a lightbulb came on! Lol I decided to buy frozen mini tarts! I followed the same base as the tarte tatin but switched it up a little. The result was amazing!!!!!!
Ingredients
- 4 Apples Cored, peeled and diced
- 50 g Salted butter
- 50 g White sugar
- 12 Store bought mini-tart shells
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 380°F.
- In a medium pan, on medium heat, melt the butter.
- While stirring the butter, add the sugar. Cook while continuing to stir.
- When your caramel has a dark golden colour, add the apples. Continue to stir and cook the apples for another 2 minutes.
- Place the mini tarts a baking sheet. Spoon a little bit of the apple caramel in each mini tart. Make sure they are full as they will shrink while baking.
- Bake for 25 minutes. Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
